The first “intelligent” stop with Wi-Fi and equipment for charging mobile devices, opened Friday on the Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, the city Committee on transport.

Innovative stopping pavilion is different from the existing St. Petersburg stops. He is bigger and in bad weather, can accommodate more waiting to transport passengers. Smart stop is the access point to Wi-Fi with high speed data transfer, for charging the mobile devices in the pavilion is equipped with USB ports, the scoreboard displaying the forecast waiting time of transport.

The safety of passengers will provide four cameras, whose signal can be passed to the police or to the city situation room. In the evening and at night in the pavilion will include recessed led lighting.

“We strive to make comfortable not only the buses, trolleybuses and trams but also other elements of transport infrastructure. For example, make simple and accessible visual information for passengers. Increase the number of information boards showing waiting time of transport. Increase opportunities for passengers traffic information transportation using mobile and stationary devices,” — are reported words of the Director of the St. Petersburg state institution “transport Organizer” Vladislav Samoilov.

All costs for the installation of the pavilion was carried out by the investor without the involvement of budget funds of St. Petersburg.

“Today we are ready to demonstrate with certainty that all of the promised functionality is implemented. Stop able to see, to show, to recharge and to correctly specify the path. But this is not the limit of our capabilities. We will develop further”, — said the author of the project “Smart stop” Anton Chervinsky.

Within three months specialists will monitor the operation of the pavilion, and collect the views of citizens on innovation. If the experiment is considered successful, then the investor is ready to install in St. Petersburg and another 50 such innovative stops for the world Cup in 2018.
