All the churches of Moscow will ring the bell on Sunday evening, may 21, when in Russia from the Italian city of Bari for the first time in history will arrive Hallows of Prelate Nikolay Chudotvortsa, said at a press conference in MIA «Russia today» press Secretary of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, the priest of Alexander Volkov.

The ringing, he said, will begin with the main belfry of Russia — Ivan the Great bell tower in the Kremlin.

The bell tower «Ivan the Great» is part of the State historical-cultural Museum-preserve «the Moscow Kremlin». The bell tower is not operating — it the exposition, visitors regular tours.

St. Nicholas lived in the fourth century in Asia Minor (now territory of Turkey), was a priest and then Archbishop of Myra city of Lycia. The tradition of the Church bears witness to the numerous miracles performed by the Saint, and his extraordinary mercy. The Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker is the patron Saint of traveling.

For 930 years the relics of St. Nicholas in Bari they have never left the city. Saint Nicholas is one of the most revered saints in all of Christendom. According to the ROC, every year hundreds of believers of the Moscow Patriarchate arrive in Bari to worship the Shrine, but for the majority of Orthodox Russia pilgrimage are far too difficult.
