The majority of Russians (80%) believe that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin will run for a new presidential term in 2018, should the data from the survey of the public opinion Foundation (FOM) published on Friday.

According to the data, 80% of respondents expressed the view that Putin will run for Russian President in 2018, 9% of respondents believe that will not, and 12% were undecided.

Almost half of Russians (46%) stated that the negative would have taken Putin’s statement that he would not run for another presidential term; 35% would have accepted such a statement without much emotion, and 14% said they would have taken it positively.
