The Muslim population will grow at a faster pace in the next decade that will promote Halal industries in the world, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
«According to the international analytical centers in the coming decade the Muslim population in the world will grow at a faster pace twice as compared to non-Muslim. This will contribute to the expansion of the Halal economy sectors — Islamic Finance, Halal food, health, fashion, cosmetics, tourism and more. Leading companies see in the Muslim markets new opportunities for business development. According to forecasts, in ten years, in the global labour market will increase substantially the proportion of Muslim youth that their preferences will influence the development of the global market of goods and services. All this must be considered in our economic strategies,» said the President at a plenary meeting of the international economic summit «Russia — Islamic world Forum».
International economic summit of Russia and countries of the organization of Islamic cooperation (OIC) was held in Kazan in 2009 and during this time became the main platform for economic cooperation between Russian regions and Islamic countries. KazanSummit is held with the support of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and the government of Tatarstan. The purpose of the forum is to develop trade-economic, scientific-technical, social and cultural relations of Russia and the countries of the organization of Islamic cooperation. In 2016, it have taken part more than 1,5 thousand representatives of international organizations, public authorities, financial institutions, investors and businessmen from 51 countries. Within the framework of KazanSummit-2016 was signed 15 treaties and agreements. The key theme of the summit this year — the Islamic investments in the context of contemporary international economic relations.
