Iran’s presidential elections are one of the most important events in the life of the Middle East, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Polling stations opened on Friday morning in all cities of Iran on the election of a new President. The Iranian foreign Minister noted that in cooperation with the guardian Council, one of whose functions is the approval of candidates for elections, as well as the observation of the elections themselves, the Ministry of foreign Affairs failed to organise presidential elections in 102 countries around the world.

According to Zarif, the overseas elections are organized in 41 countries of Asia, 26 countries in Europe, 12 countries in the Americas, 22 countries in Africa.

Presidential candidates four of them: incumbent President Hassan Rouhani, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi, former Vice President Mostafa Hashemi-Taba and the candidate of the conservatives Mostafa Agha Mirsalim. If none of them will score in the first round more than 50% of the votes, a week later held a second round involving the two candidates with the highest number of votes.

All four candidates have already voted.
