The electoral victory of the incumbent President of Iran Hassan Rouhani is a good sign for the country and for the world; he knows how to negotiate and focused on it, said RIA Novosti on Saturday, head of the international Committee of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

«Apparently, the current President of Iran Hassan Rouhani won the election and re-elected to the highest office in the state. I think that’s a good sign for the country and for the world,» said the Senator.

In his opinion, the people supported the policy of the current leader, and this course is rather moderately liberal for domestic realities. «At the same time, it seems that the current result is even higher than that Rouhani received in 2013,» — said Kosachev.

The President has carte Blanche in foreign policy, said the MP. «It is with him in 2015, an agreement was reached with the «six» of international mediators on the Iranian nuclear program. That’s when it was born in Astana, the format of cooperation between Russia, Iran and Turkey on the Syrian issue,» — said the legislator.

According to Kosachev, Rouhani knows how to negotiate and, equally important, is aimed at it. «This is a positive signal for the entire unstable region, and, in my opinion, for Russia: we weren’t that bad to find a common language earlier, I am sure, will continue», he concluded.

As stated by the head of the headquarters for elections at the interior Ministry of Iran, Ali Asghar Ahmadi, the current President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, who is running for a second term, is leading in the elections, gaining nearly 22.8 million votes after processing of 38.9 million ballots.
