The bus fleet in Nizhny Novgorod this year will replenish 200 cars, said the Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region Valery Shantsev.

«Two hundred of the new machines will join the bus fleet in Nizhny Novgorod before the end of summer. Fifty buses to the head of administration (city) transferred today, and the money to buy 150 more machines has already been transferred to the regional center,» — said the head of the region, whose words are reported by his press service.

Shantsev not only inspected and passed by the head of administration of Nizhni Novgorod Sergey Belov new buses, purchased for work on the lines of the regional center, but drove one of them as a passenger. «Of course, new technology is a good thing, but at the same time need to pay attention to logistics: that the buses were properly distributed along the routes depending on the demand of the citizens, also need to pay attention to intervals, do not make people wait,» said the Governor.

In turn, Belov said that «the purchase of 50 buses of average capacity has already been announced, and before the end of the week, competitions will be held for the purchase of 100 low-floor high-capacity buses running on gas fuel». «So, the Park «Nizhegorodpassazhiravtotrans» added 200 buses and will be updated almost 80%. This is a very good rate of updates, and very soon the citizens will move around the city in comfort. It would have been impossible without the support of the Governor and government of the region,» he said.

According to the Ministry of transport and roads of the region, the new buses «a LiAZ» adapted for people with disabilities, equipped with an electronic scoreboard and GLONASS. At the moment the buses are in the process of registration of documents and in early June will be in services.
