Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram of greetings to the participants of the St. Petersburg international economic forum in 2017, noting that during the forum they will have to assess the risks associated with the introduction of new technologies.

This year St. Petersburg international economic forum will be held June 1-3.

«The world economy for the first time in the last few years is beginning to show signs of overcoming the recession. The forum will discuss how to consolidate the emerging trends and to assess the challenges and risks associated with the introduction of new technologies,» — said in a telegram published on the Kremlin website.

According to the President, large-scale changes require from the world community effective measures to improve the international governance architecture «so that through concerted steps to achieve a distribution of the benefits of globalization to all segments of the population.»

As the President noted, over time the forum has strengthened its credibility, has become a recognized platform of world level open to direct stakeholder dialogue on current issues.

«In June of this year in St. Petersburg will once again bring together heads of States and governments, prominent political and public figures, representatives of business and expert circles of Russia and many foreign countries», — the telegram says.

Putin also expressed confidence that the decisions adopted during the forum the initiatives and recommendations will contribute to the development of a common and consolidated approach, and concluded on the sidelines of the forum the contracts and agreements will serve the development of international cooperation, the launch and implementation of new mutually beneficial projects.
