The relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker July 13, will be transferred from the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior in St. Petersburg Alexander Nevsky Lavra, reported Monday RIA Novosti news Agency in the communications sector St. Petersburg Metropolitanate.

The relics of St. Nicholas on Sunday, arrived a special flight to the airport «Vnukovo» from the papal Basilica of Bari. Previously, for all 930 years of stay of the relics in Bari they have never left the city limits. Until 12 July the relics will be placed in Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

The ROC has not previously been called the place of stay of the relics in the Northern capital. In early may in the St. Petersburg diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church has informed that does not exclude the possibility to exhibit the relics of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker at St. Isaac’s Cathedral, if by that time he will be transferred to believers. But then as the most likely place was named Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
