Ukraine could lose the right to vote during the election of the new Director General of the world health organization (who) for outstanding contributions in excess of 26 million dollars, told RIA Novosti source familiar with the situation.

«The right to vote deprived the Central African Republic, Guinea-Bissau, Somalia, Comoros and Ukraine. All have outstanding contributions, but they all have a chance to resolve the issue,» he said.

The interlocutor of the Agency stressed that these countries will officially re voting rights if, prior to Tuesday morning will not provide written assurances that they are willing to pay the debt on contributions.

According to the resolutions of the world health Assembly, the law of Ukraine on voting at the world health Assembly (WHA) was suspended in 2014 as the country had arrears of contributions. Denial of voting rights was subsequently confirmed in resolutions of the WHA 2015 and 2016.

In resolution WHA 69/48 the 69th world health Assembly, in particular, States that «in accordance with the previous WHA resolutions, the privilege of a vote, the following five States will continue to be suspended: Central African Republic, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Somalia and the Ukraine.»

According to official who data, Ukraine’s debt from 31 December 2013 to 2016 is more than 26,395 million US dollars.

The election of a new who Director-General will be held at the world health Assembly on Tuesday in Geneva.
