Investigators opened a criminal case under article «negligence» after a story in the media that in the Sverdlovsk region violated the rights of residents of an apartment building emergency with the destroyed entrance, the press service of the RF IC.

Earlier it was reported that instructions to check the story to investigators in the Sverdlovsk region was given by the Chairman of the Russian IC Alexander Bastrykin. It was noted that the may 23 broadcast on Federal TV channels aired a story stating that the tenants of an apartment house in the village Veresivka Pervouralsk city district, injured in gas explosion in 1995, living in threat for their life and health conditions.

«In order to establish all the circumstances connected with the improper performance by officials of their responsibility to provide citizens with safe living conditions, the investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on Sverdlovsk area criminal case on signs of the crime… «negligence», — stated in the message.

According to the investigation reports, the gas explosion that occurred at the first entrance of the house in 1995, there was a partial progressive collapse of the house from the second to the fifth floor. Despite the emergency state of the building, the local administration did not take steps for the resettlement of citizens from other entrances.

It is reported that the case will establish all the circumstances of the situation, and the actions of officials will be given the appropriate legal assessment.
