The Board of the Guild of theatre managers is concerned about the pressure information in connection with the situation around Yuri itina.

The former CEO created by Director Kirill Serebrennikov, «the Seventh Studio», Director of the Yaroslavl drama theater named after Fyodor Volkov Yuriy Itin is under house arrest on charges of embezzlement of public funds. Itin and former company accountant Nina Maslyaeva suspected fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the criminal code). Itin, as noted in the statement, is one of the most well-known and respected theatre managers of Russia. In the opinion of the Board of the Guild of theatre managers, «the current situation around itina, tension and ill-considered statements unfairly discrediting not only itina, but also the entire field of theatrical management.»

«We rely on objective, fair and transparent investigation, call for scrutiny of all the circumstances of the case, we warn against hasty statements and conclusions of guilt without a court order and ask about respect to the person who made a huge contribution to the development of theatrical business», — said in a statement.

The statement was signed by 10 Directors of theatres, including Anatoly Polynkin, Kirill KROK, Victor minkow and others.
