The Russian women’s eight won bronze of the championship of Europe in rowing, held in Račice (Czech Republic).

In the Russian team were Yulia Kalinovskaya, Plaksina Valentina, Anna Aksenova, Anna Karpova, Elena Arabiska, Ekaterina Potapova, Anastasia Tikhanova, Alevtina Savkin, Evgeny Terekhov (tie). The time of the Russians — 6 min 16,050 seconds. The first are the representatives of Romania (6.10,350), silver was won by the Netherlands (6.12,860).

Earlier in the tournament the Russian rowers won gold in the four wing light weight without steering, silver in the men’s wing of two light class and bronze in the fours competition wing without a tail.
