Russia in response to the expulsion of five diplomats from Russia could refrain from reflex action, thereby emphasizing the odiousness of these actions of Chisinau, said the first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin.

«These actions, of course, odious. But Russia in this case could, refraining from expulsion, to emphasize the odium of actions, which have no direct relation to existing relations or relations of Russia with Moldova, but have a direct relationship to the political crisis and the struggle for power between the President and the government, the Parliament majority», — told RIA Novosti Zatulin.

The MP said that Russia has two ways to react to the expulsion of diplomats, one of them is a mirror response.

«But I have the impression that the organizers of this provocation — in this case, it is a provocation when it comes to Russian-Moldovan relations — they just expect such reaction from Russia. Their plans include every possible way to reduce the level of interstate relations between Russia and Moldova, turned his attention to relations with the European Union, and for some of the participants of the parliamentary majority — with one of the EU countries, namely Romania,» he added.

«There is another option, which we also used in the case of the British spies, with (former) President (US) Obama, who was sent at the end of his presidency of our diplomats before the New year from the USA. We did not take retaliatory actions, once again wanting to emphasize the odious actions of the other party,» reminded the MP.
