In the column you can see the flags of the different Autonomous communities of Spain — the Basque Country, Valencia, Catalonia, Andalusia and the flags of Spain. The most acute problem with licenses in Madrid, however, thousands of taxi drivers have come from other regions to support their Metropolitan colleagues, and to prevent «violations of the law.» This is the first nationwide strike, which takes place not only in Madrid and Barcelona, but also in other cities of the country.

The reason for the protest of taxi drivers called «unfair competition» from the passenger transportation companies Uber and Cabify. The fact that the cost of the license of the driver of the taxi costs 120 to 170 thousand euros. To get it, drivers often have to take out a loan. The drivers Uder and Cabify have another type of license — a car with a driver who you can hire (VTC). Such a license costs much cheaper. In some cases, its cost was 32 Euro. According to the law on one license VTC needs to have 30 licenses of taxi drivers. In practice, however, things are different. In Madrid quota exceeded several times.

«The solidarity of the Spaniards. Say no. 1/30» — written on the poster that keeps Alberto, who came with several dozens of colleagues from the Country bucks. «Politicians promise that will not change the law. So let them have something to do. It still does not comply. Why I had to pay 120 thousand euros for the license, and Uber is not? Let’s have honest work. There are rules, we have to get them to observe,» he says.

Out of all Spanish cities Uber is operating in Madrid, Barcelona his work is still not restored, the negotiations between the company and the city authorities who did not manage to agree on the number of licenses.

More common in Spain, Cabify, this system works well. This system works in Portugal and Latin America.
