The players of the national team of Russia had with the right foot to start a home confederations Cup, the team looked strong in the match against the new Zealanders, said the head coach of Australians Angelos Postecoglou.

The Russians on Saturday in St.-Petersburg in the first match of the confederations Cup 2017 new Zealanders won with the score 2:0. In the next round the team of Stanislav Cherchesov 21 June in Moscow will meet with the team of Portugal, and then will play against the Mexicans on June 24 in Kazan.

«We saw the match of Russian national team. The Russians looked strong. They play at home, it helps the team. They had to start the tournament off on the right foot and they did well. It will be something to fight in the confederations Cup. I think the fight will be in both groups, but we came here to play against the best,» said Postecoglou at a press conference.

Team Australia on Monday will hold the first match at the confederations Cup in 2017 against team Germany. The meeting will be held in Sochi at the stadium «Fisht» and will start at 18.00 GMT.

«Let’s debunk another myth — said Postecoglou. — Youth teams – it’s not all in relation to tomorrow’s match. We’ll see who the lineup will be younger. Not all defined. We take the field against the world Champions, a team that has come a long way. This is a huge test for us. I don’t want to dwell who are younger and who is older. At the moment the youth team of Germany – a common myth that you can dispel».
