Belarus and Russia will sign an agreement on mutual recognition of visas before the end of 2017, reported Monday on the website of the permanent Committee of the Union state.

The report said that at the June 16 meeting of the Council of Ministers approved the action plan for the period 2017 to 2020 to form a unified migration space in the territories of the States parties to the Treaty on establishing the Union state.

«The most important themes of the plan were the issues of the common visa policy, in this area the plan provides for the preparation and signing of the agreement on mutual recognition of visas and other matters before the end of 2017», — stated in the message.

There emphasizes that «this will remove the problem of crossing the Russian-Belarusian border by citizens of third countries, which has escalated in the last time.»

In addition, the report says, will address issues of convergence of procedures and regulations for issuing visas, the sides will study the possibility of introducing a uniform visa Union state.

According to the report, the plan provides for the development of the draft concept of migration policy of the Union state and its implementation plan for the period up to 2025. Thus, it is emphasized there, the plan is aimed at further development of cooperation in the sphere of formation of the single migration space of the Union state, new challenges, including those associated with the formation of a common visa space.
