Reducing the tax burden on the Russian organizations of the industry of animated films will provide considerable support for the industry, says the head of movie company STV, producer Sergey Selyanov.

«This will significantly reduce the cost of production and increase competitiveness and investment attractiveness, because in such industries as ours, the payroll is up to 80% of the cost of the product,» he said.

«We welcome this decision, we have long sought this and glad that it’s finally happening,» – said Sergey Selyanov.
31 may of this year Vladimir Putin has held a meeting with representatives of leading Russian animation studios («Soyuzmultfilm», «Mill», «Ricky», «Animecon», «Vizart» and «Kinoatis»), in which the participants discussed problems and prospects of development of animation industry in Russia.

Following the meeting, the President approved a number of instructions. In particular, until 1 September 2017 the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev instructed to bring in legislation on taxes and duties change, involving the reduction of tariffs of insurance contributions for domestic multipliers.
