The head of FAS Igor Artemyev did not see the threat that Western sanctions against Russia will act in another 20-30 years.

«Honestly, I’m not in any nightmare even a dream not see that the sanctions will be 20-30 years continue. I just don’t believe, even subconsciously,» said Artemyev in an interview with TV channel «Russia 24».

The head of FAS noted that, despite the sanctions, many European countries are investing in the strategic sectors of the Russian economy, which are under special control of the state and the attention of the security services. Talking about areas adjacent to the defence, IT-technologies or infrastructure.

«I don’t see how a damage in part of investments in strategic areas. Before the sanctions, I was the Secretary of the Commission (the government’s foreign investment — ed.) now. About the same money (invested in the Russian economy — ed). Of course, vector has shifted to the East, before it was more of Europe,» — said Artemyev.

Relations between Russia and the West deteriorated over the situation in Ukraine. Western countries have imposed a series of sanctions against Russia, Moscow has retaliated. While Moscow has repeatedly rejected accusations of Western countries meddling in the Affairs of Ukraine, stating that it is not a party to domestic conflict in the Donbass and the subject of the Minsk agreements on the settlement. Russia has also repeatedly said that to talk with Moscow the language of sanctions is counterproductive.
