Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich urged the heads of Russian regions to support and encourage the development of charging and road infrastructure for electric vehicles, according to the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday.

«Arkady Dvorkovich signed a resolution with an appeal to higher officials (heads of higher Executive bodies of state power) of subjects of Federation within the powers on the organization of road traffic on the territory of the Federation to support and encourage the development of charging and road infrastructure for cars, including for ensuring access of electric vehicles on dedicated lanes for route vehicles», — stated in the message.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree amending the rules of the road, in which are introduced the terms «electric» and «hybrid car». In the explanatory note to the document it was noted that changes are made in connection with the accelerated development of environmentally friendly modes of transport.
