Were also disrupted the work of the media and many educational institutions. The government called the incident a «major disaster.»

As the edition of All Africa, the cause of disconnection was a damage of the undersea fiber optic cable ship MSC Alice, which delivered the cargo to Mogadishu. In connection with the incident, the ship was detained. The government will demand compensation from the company, which owns MSC Alice.

According to the Agency, on Monday, the largest telecommunications company in the country Hormuud Telecom has informed its customers about the restoration of the Internet.
