The earthquake of a magnitude of 6.2 occurred on Monday off the coast of the commander Islands that are included in the Kamchatka region, reports the US Geological survey (USGS).

Earlier it was reported that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.6.

The aftershocks recorded at 14.05 GMT 183 km South-East from the village of Nikolskoye. The focus lies at a depth of 7.9 miles.

Information on possible victims and destructions did not arrive.

Geological survey said the green threat level earthquake, indicating a low likelihood of casualties and economic damage.

In the Kamchatka branch of the FITZ «uniform geophysical service of Russian Academy of Sciences» has also reported the earthquake of magnitude 6,2, adding that it occurred at a depth of 44 kilometers.
