Concert-evening «the Poet in Russia — more than a poet» dedicated to the 85th anniversary since the birth of Yevgeny Yevtushenko, will be held on Tuesday at the State academic Capella of St. Petersburg, organizers said.

July 18, Yevtushenko was to celebrate its 85th anniversary. In his anniversary plans was a creative meeting, a large jubilee festival presentation of the new collection, April 1, but the poet did not.

«One of the last wishes of Eugene A. was that all planned programs were held without him. The creative team who worked with Yevtushenko on the last tour in Russia in 2015, fulfilled the last wish of the poet,» — said in the message.

On the evening of «the Poet in Russia — more than a poet» viewers will be able not only to hear favorite lines and songs of the poet, but to see the exclusive video, previously unseen on the screen.

The program will take part: Svetlana Kryuchkov, Ivan Krasko, Irina Mazurkevich Aleksandr Galibin, Sergey Barkovskiy, Oleg Pogudin, albert Asadullin, Natalia Udalova, Eugene Engelhardt and others.

An outstanding poet of the sixties Yevgeny Yevtushenko was born in 1932 in the Irkutsk region. On account of his many collections of poetry and 19 poems, including «Brotherly hydroelectric power station», «Babi Yar», «Corrida», «Under the skin statue of Liberty». He also gained fame as a novelist, Director, screenwriter, essayist and actor. In 1991, the poet entered into a teaching contract with the University of Oklahoma and has since lived with his family in the United States.
