In Kazakhstan discussed amendments to the legislation prohibiting the wearing in public places clothing that conceals the face and prevent the recognition of the individual, said the Minister of religious Affairs and civil society of the Republic of Nurlan Yermekbayev.

«There is a proposal on the ban on the wearing in public places clothing that conceals the face and prevent the recognition of the individual. It is today a widespread international experience, he dictated both by considerations of public safety, and considerations of ethics and the preservation of national cultural traditions», — he said Thursday at a press conference.

The Minister stressed that the initiative on introduction of these amendments to the legislation emanates from civil society.

«People who wear such clothes, they thereby demonstrate disagreement with those principles and spiritual values that historically in our society. That is, they have a negative impact on others, cause irritation and dissatisfaction of the majority of citizens,» said Yermekbayev.

According to him, currently this rule is considered, its specific wording is discussed with experts and the public, and perhaps there will be some adjustments. «But in General, this is dictated by public demand, a public order,» he concluded.
