Guests of the international festival of contemporary classics Re:Formers, which will be held in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg from 21 October to 4 November, will hear classic and contemporary works of authorship performed by virtuoso musicians from Holland, France, UK, USA and Russia, the press service of the event.

The international festival of contemporary classics Re:Formers, combining classic design with current trends of art, including theatrical performance, will be held at premises of the Small hall of the Conservatory, House of music and Museum of Alexander Scriabin in Moscow, and the Museum of modern art Erarta and the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace in Saint-Petersburg.

Russian and foreign musicians will perform six concerts and will hold four interactive master class, the organizers noted.

«Along with the author’s premieres festival guests will hear works of Shostakovich, Ligeti, Schmitt, Schumann, Ravel, Hindemith and other famous composers… It is not self-sufficient transformation of the classics, and bringing a stirring freshness in her performance and, as a consequence, strengthening the connection with the listener», — stated in the message of press-service.

The organizers said that the Central tool of the festival will be saxophone.

To the audience, musicians from Holland, France, UK, USA and Russia who «share a passion for forming unique new forms of music, transmission of its scale, depth and simultaneous availability of perception».

The festival will be a continuation of the humanitarian project «Music for Peace», whose members are traveling with concerts and master classes in the post-conflict territories around the world.
