Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev expressed deep condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of actor Vladimir Zeldin, said in a telegram published on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Zeldin died in Moscow on 102-m to year of life on Monday. Farewell to the actor will be held on November 3 in the Theatre of the Russian army, where he served since 1945, will be buried at Novodevichy cemetery.

“The death of Vladimir Mikhailovich Zeldin is a huge loss for Russian culture, for all of us. Vladimir Mikhailovich was a true knight of the theater, the idol of several generations, gave our country a century of the great artist — a century Zeldin… a Man of unique talent, he had an incredible ability to delight the audience with his every appearance on stage and to charge her extra energy for good. Vladimir Mikhailovich is no longer with us, but his remarkable work remained kind and light memory of the great artist who was loved by millions of people,” the telegram reads.

The Prime Minister said that our art is impossible to imagine without the bright, unique images, created by Selinum in the cinema and in the Theatre of the Russian army.
