The German police detained a Syrian refugee suspected of trying to procure materials for the manufacture of weapons or explosives, according to the tabloid Bild.

As reported in Prosecutor’s office of Stuttgart, police arrested 20-year-old Syrian living in the Federal state of Baden-württemberg over the weekend when he tried to cross the border between Germany and Denmark.

Investigators searched the room of a detainee in a hostel for refugees, details of the search are not disclosed.

A warrant for the arrest of Syrian was issued on suspicion of preparing a serious crime that endangers state security, the Prosecutor said.
