Belarus and Russia are negotiating the possibility of raising the tariff for transportation of Russian oil through Belarusian territory, decisions on improvement yet, said Tuesday in Minsk, the Minister of Antimonopoly regulation and trade of Belarus Vladimir Koltovich.

Earlier, a source in the oil transportation industry of Belarus told RIA Novosti that the country intends to increase tariff on oil transit by 20.5%. The official representative of Transneft Igor Demin, RIA Novosti has confirmed receipt of the notification and said that in the first half of December, the company will hold meetings with Belarusian companies to explore methods of calculation of tariff.

“There is a normal discussion. She (the amount of change of the rate — ed.) can move,” said Koltovich told reporters.

He explained that while the Belarusian organizations, which are engaged in pumping oil, expressed his proposal for the amount by which it is advisable to increase the tariff. “This is the usual procedure: according to the established order of planning prices for the next year, organizations involved in the transportation of oil, conduct negotiations with the Russian side,” — said the Minister, noting that while it only the offer of Belarusian enterprises.

“Negotiations are under way. This is absolutely normal. Go talks at the expert level of our enterprises and the Russian side”, — said Koltovich.
