Lavrov: Russia stands for a settlement in Libya on the basis of UN resolutions

The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that Russia stands for the settlement of the situation in Libya based on UN resolutions.

“We continue to advocate a search for ways of national reconciliation in Libya in accordance with the decisions taken by the Council of UN Security. And today, we will be very useful to hear your assessment of the situation”, he said at a meeting with the commander of the Libyan national army, Khalifa the Haftarot.

In turn, the Libyan military commander expressed the hope that relations of Russia and Libya will gain momentum.

“Our goal today is to breathe new life into these relationships,” said Haftar.
