. Police arrested three residents of Saratov on suspicion in extortion of a fictional debt of the entrepreneur, which they, according to investigators, kept in the basement, said Friday the regional Prosecutor’s office.

According to the Agency, three residents of the Factory district of the city since the beginning of October to December extorted from the businessman a non-existent debt of 50 thousand rubles, while periodically holding the businessman in the cellar of one of houses along the street Zarechnoj.

“Men are detained as article 91 UPK the Russian Federation law enforcement bodies, the question on election concerning them a preventive measure in the form of detention”, — is spoken in the message.

The police opened a criminal case under article “extortion committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion, with the use of violence.” The defendants face up to seven years of imprisonment. The Prosecutor acknowledged the criminal case lawful and took the course of his investigation under special control.

As said on Friday the press-service of the regional Central Directorate of interior Ministry, 31-year-old victim went to the police with the statement for extortion on Thursday night. Detention of suspects was carried out by employees of criminal investigation unit and SWAT.

According to the interior Ministry, 27-year-old and 25-year-old suspects do not work and has not been previously convicted, while their 57-year-old alleged accomplice in the 1990-ies has three times been convicted of theft.
