Monument to founder of Soviet children’s literature Samuil Marshak will appear in Lyalinov lane in Moscow, has informed on Saturday of RIA Novosti in the publishing house “Eksmo-AST”.

Next year will be the Year of Samuel Marshak in Russia. He is the author of wonderful children’s books, including “cat house”, “the Twelve months”, Teremok and others, as well as the brilliant translations by William Shakespeare, Robert burns, Rudyard Kipling, Alexander Milne. In 2017, marks 130 years since the birth of Marshak.

The publisher reports that the first of the celebrations will be the launch of a charity campaign to raise funds for the installation of the monument Marshak in Lyalinov lane. The exact location will be determined later, said the press service.

“Among the festivities is the unveiling of a monument to Samuil Yakovlevich in Lyalinov lane in Moscow, launching the Literary train “Poetry in the metro” in the Moscow metro and the limited edition is a travel ticket on the works of Marshak, the national children’s readings of his works in the largest cities of Russia together with the project “Live classics”, — stated in the message of press-service.

In addition, Marshak will be devoted to a special cultural program in the framework of the Book festival “Red square”.

The training activities engaged in by the publishing house “Kid” and the Russian Jewish Congress, partners in the project are the Moscow metro, Russian state children’s library and others.
