The Japanese government is discussing with the Russian colleagues the proposal of the Association of breeders of the famous Japanese dog breed Akita inu to give Russian President Vladimir Putin is still a puppy.

According to Agency Kiodo, the issue was discussed during the meeting, Secretary-General of the Japanese government, Acehide Sugi and representatives of the Association.

“We are currently discussing this idea (with Moscow). But we have not yet received a positive answer”, — quotes Agency the words of the Secretary General.

In 2012, representatives of the Japanese Prefecture of Akita gave the Russian side in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport a dog breed Akita inu named Yume (“dream”) as a gift to Putin in gratitude for Russia’s assistance to North Eastern region of Japan affected by the earthquake and tsunami in March 2011.
