The Bank of Russia does not agree with Sberbank that the losses of Russian banks from hackers much more of official statistics, said the Deputy head of the main Directorate of security and information protection (GABSI) of the Central Bank Artem Sychev reporters.

As earlier told RIA Novosti the Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Stanislav Kuznetsov, reliable statistics on the extent of damage to the Russian economy from cybercrime is because the low level of protection from hackers, but obviously they’re significantly more than the official data.

“I can tell you that the banks, of course, some figures may hide, but that is not significantly more is definitely. We periodically compare its statistics with the police and we have it with them beats very well,” said Sychev.

“We have, maybe not complete figures, but the fact that they are not at times more – that’s for sure, this brand”, — he assured.

According to the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the losses of Russian banks from hackers over the past period of 2016 amounted to slightly more than 2 billion rubles, said Sychev.

“A little over two billion is the money that is stolen from the correspondents accounts of credit institutions and the money that was stolen from the accounts of clients of credit organizations”, — he said.

“This is the total losses that crime can inflict. I agree that nationwide is a very small amount, but we have a problem that the rate of theft did not grow, it is very important”, — said Sychev.
