Large Crimean banks reported a temporary outage of a network of ATMs at night on Monday, calling the reasons for the expected DDoS attacks and maintenance, told RIA Novosti press-service banking institutions of the Peninsula.

“Leadership “GenBank” decided to temporarily disable the Bank’s ATM network. The trip is from 21.00 to 9.00 04/12/16 05/12/16. The reason – the impending, according to the Russian security services, DDoS-attack (a cyber attack) on the banking system of the Russian Federation”, — stated in the message of Bank published on its website.

Locking devices will be implemented to prevent unauthorized transactions and loss of clients ‘ funds, the Bank reported. “GenBank” has 500 ATMs on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and 70 in Sevastopol.

The ATM network of the Bank “Russia” on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol also temporarily stop work on Monday night. “In the period from 21.00 to 9 am Monday will be the technical work on updating the software of ATMs of the Bank “Russia”, — said in a call centre “Russia”. The Bank 115 ATMs in the Crimea and 57 in Sevastopol.

In Russian national commercial Bank (RNCB) information on the temporary suspension of ATMs are not confirmed, nor denied. “Currently, the entire network of ATMs of MCB operating normally,” — said the press service. MCB offers the most extensive ATM network in the Crimea – more than 700 pieces.
