Tretiakov won silver at the first stage of the world Cup skeleton

Olympic champion Sochi Russian skeleton Alexander Tretyakov was the second on the opening stage of the world Cup held in canadian Whistler.

After the first run Tretiakov was third, but after the final attempt managed to climb to second place, finishing with a time of 1 minute i.e. 45.98 seconds. The winner was Yong sung-Bin of South Korea (1.45,86), the third American Matthew Antoine (1.46,22). The world Cup winner last season Martins Dukurs of Latvia finished fourth (1.46,26).

The world Junior champion Russian Nikita Tregubov in Whistler was fifth (1.46,44), and Egor Veselov, the debutant of the competition, the 12th (1.47,29).

The second stage of the world Cup will be held on December 16-17 in American lake placid.
