The Chairman of the Islamic Committee of Russia Heydar Jemal died in the night of Monday, the public figure was 69 years old. This is stated on his official page in Facebook.

First Deputy Chairman of the Spiritual administration of Muslims of Russia, member of the Council of Muftis of Russia Damir mukhetdinov said that in the face of Muslims Jemal lost “a very big Islamic scholar, educator and thinker.” In his opinion, compensate for the loss of the head of the Islamic Committee of Russia will not be easy.

Heydar Jemal was born 6 November 1947 in Moscow in the family of honored artist of Russia and tamer. In 1995 he created “Interregional public movement, the Islamic Committee”, which he headed until his last days of life.

Jamal has also written several books on Islam, including “the Liberation of Islam” and “Revolution of the Prophets”.
