In Transnistria the first day of early voting, about 290 people

В Приднестровье в первый день досрочно проголосовали около 290 человек

Nearly 290 people have made their choice on the first day of early voting in the presidential elections in the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldovan Republic, said Tuesday the press service of the CEC TMR.

“At the end of the first day of early voting in the evening of December 6 287 voters in the Republic voted early in Ticks. Of which 94 — in Tiraspol, 50 – Bender, 38 – in Grigoriopol, 36 – in dubăsari, six in Kamenka, 26 in Rybnitsa, 37 in Slobozia”, — stated in the message.

The press service said that from 6 to 9 December to early vote in the territorial election commissions, and December 10 in the district. The main elections will be held on December 11.

The ballot included six candidates: the speaker of Parliament Vadim Krasnoselsky and current head of the PMR Yevgeny Shevchuk, as well as the leader of the Transnistrian Communist party, MP Oleg Horjan, a former President of the constitutional court of the PMR Vladimir Grigoriev, the Prosecutor PMR Alexander Delhi and unemployed Irina Vasilachi.

The last presidential election in Transnistria was held in December 2011, they were held in two rounds, then won Shevchuk, who was elected President of PMR for a period of five years.

Transnistria, 60% of inhabitants are Russians and Ukrainians sought to secede from Moldova even before the collapse of the USSR, fearing that on the wave of nationalism Moldova will join Romania. In 1992, after a failed attempt of the authorities of Moldova force to solve the problem, Transnistria has become virtually beyond the control of Chisinau’s territory.
