The Bank of Russia said the surplus in the current account of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation, formed in January-September 2016, noting that it had declined to 14.4 billion instead of the previously stated 15.6 billion, follows from the data controller.

Thus, the current account surplus of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation for the first three quarters of 2016 fell 3.8 times (earlier, in October, the regulator estimated a fall of 3.5 times).

«The surplus on the current account of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in January-September 2016 fell to 14.4 billion U.S. dollars, compared with 54.4 billion U.S. dollars in January-September of 2015 primarily due to a significant (55.4 billion US dollars) reduction of positive balance of foreign trade in goods, which is not sufficiently compensated by the decrease in the deficit on other items of the current account», — stated in the materials of the regulator.

For Jan-Nov current account surplus of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation decreased 2.9% in annual terms, to 22.2 billion dollars. As noted, the Central Bank, the current account of the balance of payments of Russia felt in 2016, the impact of the weakening of the trade balance, due to the reduction of exports amid recovery of import; a compensating role played by the significant decline in deficit of balance of services.
