The famous Russian Opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky has announced that for health reasons refuses to participate in Opera productions «in the foreseeable future.»

At the end of June 2015 Hvorostovsky, for many years living in London, has announced that it is suffering from a brain tumor. Since then, the singer underwent several courses of chemotherapy.

«Dear friends, fans and colleagues, with great sadness I am forced to refuse participation in Opera productions in the foreseeable future. I had problems with balance due to my illness, so I rather not easy to perform in plays,» wrote Hvorostovsky on its official website on Thursday.

In January and February 2017, the singer had to go on stage of the Royal Opera and ballet theatre in the role of count di Luna in «Il Trovatore» by Giuseppe Verdi.

«I will continue to give concerts and record new albums. Singing is my life! And I really want to bring joy to his fans around the world. With the forced pause in the Opera career, as well as in between each concert performance, I hope to focus on her health and treatment,» wrote Hvorostovsky.

«Thank you for the love, messages and wishes. Your support means a lot to me,» admitted the singer.
