The requirement of a number of U.S. senators to the President elect of the country Donald Trump to toughen policy towards Russia over Ukraine is another attempt to disrupt the normalization of relations between the two countries, said the Senator of the Russian Federation Alexei Pushkov.

Earlier it was reported that a group of senators of US Congress sent a letter to Trump, urging him to pursue a tough policy towards Russia on the situation in Ukraine.

«27 senators called for trump to put pressure on Russia over Ukraine. Another attempt to disrupt the normalization of relations. The other makes no sense», — wrote Pushkov in his microblog on Twitter.

The senators forgot that hard line in Rel. Of Russia in Ukraine has not brought Obama’s success. It’s irrational to demand that trump repeating the mistakes of Obama.

According to Pushkov, the hard line towards Russia over Ukraine is not brought current President Barack Obama to succeed.

«The senators have forgotten what hard line against Russia on Ukraine has not brought Obama’s success. It’s irrational to demand that trump repeating the mistakes of Obama,» the Senator added.
