President Vladimir Putin will meet with Russian national professional skills, which took first place in the team competition European Championships EuroSkills, the press service of the Kremlin.

The Russian team took first place in the team standings in points and seventh place medals in the European championship of working professions Euroskills 2016, held in Gothenburg, Sweden on 1-3 December. Participants from Russia received two gold, two silver, one bronze and 11 honorary medals awarded for the quality of the job.

It is reported that in the competition in Gothenburg was attended by 43 young professionals from 18 regions of the country.

Previously the winners were congratulated by Minister of education and science of Russia Olga Vasilyeva, noting that many young people and students make their choice in profession, looking at such an example and achievements.

The fifth European championship in vocational skills EuroSkills 2016 took place in Sweden from 1 to 3 December. It was attended by 500 young professionals from 28 European countries who competed for 35 major and 9 presentation skills title of the best masters of Europe.

EuroSkills is the biggest competition in Europe for professional skills for young people up to 25 years, which since 2008 is held every two years in one of the countries participating in WorldSkills Europe. Championships EuroSkills contribute to the successful development of professional education in Europe and a significant promotion of professional skills in the field of many trades.

The championship was attended by more than 65 thousand people – twice more than organizers expected the host side.

WorldSkills International is an international movement designed to promote the work of the profession. The world championship WorldSkills is the world’s largest competition of professional skill. Russia joined the WorldSkills movement in 2012. Regional Championships are held in more than half of the subjects of the country.
