Russia intends to maintain the momentum of economic turnover, to increase political dialogue, trade, investment and humanitarian-cultural cooperation with Cuba, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin following the meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental Commission.

Rogozin heads the Commission from the Russian side, Cuban co — Chairman- Vice Prime Minister and Minister of economy and planning, Ricardo Cabrisas. The meeting was held during the working visit of the Russian delegation to Cuba, December 8-9.

Cuba remains a time-tested partner of Russia, said Rogozin.

«In recent years, the geopolitical world economic situation is changing rapidly, in fact we are faced with correctable conditions. In this context, we welcome the diverse Russian-Cuban cooperation… We intend to continue the momentum of our economic relations, enhancing political dialogue, trade, investment, humanitarian and cultural cooperation», — said Rogozin.

«We attach special importance to the work of the intergovernmental Commission, we hold personal meetings. Today we discussed key issues of cooperation between the two countries, specific projects in energy, metallurgy, transport, automotive, agriculture», — said Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

During the visit, signed a number of agreements, including commercial aviation, road transport, electricity, said the Deputy head of the Russian government.

Rogozin said that Cuba successfully solves the problems, despite pressure from the leading Western countries, primarily the United States. Russia is also an object of pressure, he added. «But the pressure makes our country stronger,» — concluded Rogozin.
