The US President-elect Donald trump pledged Thursday to force China to play by the rules of the market economy.

«China is not a market economy,» said trump, speaking to supporters in Iowa.

He also reiterated the American position that Beijing is manipulating its currency. «We will force them to play by the rules,» said trump, whose performance broadcasts TV channel C-SPAN.

He stressed the importance of relations between the US and China. According to trump, «they need to improve.»

Trump also presented to the audience by the Governor of Iowa Terry Brandstad as its candidate for the post of U.S. Ambassador to China. «That’s the man I chose for the post of American Ambassador in China,» he said.

Trump officially announced his desire to see the Governor of Iowa Ambassador to China on Wednesday.

Branstad served as Governor more than anyone else in American history — from 1983 to 1999 and from 2011 to 2016. His refusal of the post of chief of staff for Ambassador demonstrates the important role played by the diplomatic representative of the United States in Beijing on the influence of the position close to the Ministry.

Trump takes office as US President on 20 January 2017. After that it will submit to the Senate the candidates for various positions, including U.S. ambassadors in different countries.
