The international Federation of bobsleigh and skeleton (IBSF) has suspended four Russian athletes from competition; the reason was the investigation of the IOC. This was reported on the official website of IBSF.

The disciplinary case against 28 of the Russians was opened on December 23. This happened after the publication of the second part of the report of the independent Commission WADA under the leadership of Richard McLaren of doping during the Olympics-2014 in Sochi.

«IBSF in accordance with the anti-doping rules of the organization temporarily suspends four Russian skeleton sliders, as at 30 December 2016», — stated in the message.

It is noted that the incident was reported by the athletes and the bobsleigh Federation of Russia.

In IBSF added that he will call the names of two-seater suspended until the completion of the proceedings.

Only Russian team in the skeleton at the 2014 winter Olympics consisted of six people. Two of them became medalists: Alexander Tretyakov won the gold medal, and Elena Nikitina the bronze. Besides them, the team was Olga Potylitsyna, Maria Orlova, Sergei Chudinov, Nikita Tregubov.
