In Ukraine sharply criticized billionaire Victor Pinchuk, who in an article for the Wall Street Journal proposed a plan of action to end the conflict in the Donbass.

Pinchuk noted that the world situation is changing: all the evidence suggests that the new presidential administration in the U.S. will change policy towards Russia, and in Europe can come to power leaders who are ready to negotiate with Moscow.

To adapt to the new realities, Ukraine should be prepared to make «painful compromises,» says Pinchuk. In his opinion, the country should abandon its attempts to join the EU in the near future and recognize that in the medium term, Ukraine will not become a NATO member.

Pinchuk also urged Kiev to accept the results of local elections in Donbass and Crimea, he said, «should not stand in the way of agreements, is able to stop the war in the East».

The Ukrainian authorities should prepare realistic proposals on these points and make it clear that it is willing to agree to a gradual downsizing of the anti-sanctions, said the businessman.

In Kiev Pinchuk article sharply criticized. In particular, Verkhovna Rada Deputy from the Radical party Igor Mosiychuk in Facebook called his proposal a «path to treason» and «surrender to Moscow», and the Deputy from «Batkivshchyna» Igor Lutsenko announced Pinchuk «dangerous enemy.»

MP from «Opposition bloc», former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Vilkul opinion Pinchuk, on the contrary, is supported. «Maybe a certain part of society was not ready for his statement, but it will take six months, and the attitude will change,» — he said in Facebook.
