Russian chess player Sergey Karjakin won the world blitz championship, held in Qatar, reports «R-Sport».

Following the tournament, the grandmaster has scored the same number of points with Norwegian Magnus Carlsen — at 16.5 points, but was higher at the expense of additional indicators.

Bronze was won by Russian Daniil Dubov in the top 5 was also the representative of Russia, Alexander Grischuk.

In November Karjakin fought against Carlsen for the title of world champion in classical chess. The Norwegian won the tiebreaker with the score 3:1.
