Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova can strip the gold medal of the 2014 Olympics in figure skating. About it reports the Agency «R-Sport» with reference to the Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport.

In December was published the second part of the report of the head of the independent Commission of the world anti-doping Agency (WADA) Richard McLaren, in which he argued that more than a thousand Russian athletes were involved in the manipulation of doping samples in 30 sports at different tournaments.

According to a source publication, the Olympic champion Sotnikova was among those athletes suspected of manipulating doping samples. In this case we are not talking about a positive doping test or its substitution. The publication emphasizes that the urine of the Russian athletes were clean. In vitro, the newspaper claims, with the sample Sotnikova got a scratch, «first type», which may indicate a possible opening of the tube and possible manipulations with it.

At the winter Olympics in Sochi, the Russian athlete won gold in figure skating, becoming the first in Russian history Olympic champion in women’s figure skating. Silver Games got South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na, the third place was taken by athlete from Italy Carolina Kostner.

In addition, La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that in the list appear the names of other Russian skaters Tatiana Volosozhar and Ksenia Stolbova. At the 2014 Olympics in the pair Volosozhar Maxim trankovym became the Olympic champion in the pairs competition, and Stolbova along with Fedor Klimov won the silver award.
