Hit George Michael’s «Last Christmas» for the first time since its release was in the top 10 of the British charts after the news of the death of the singer, reports the AFP.

According to the Agency, the composition took the seventh place, the official charts of the UK, which was a record for the entire 31-year history of the track.

Reportedly, the song also became one of the most broadcast on radio stations during this week. The track was broadcasted by 3.6 million times.

George Michael (real name Georgios Kyriakos Panayiotou) died at the age of 53 years at home, in the village of Goring in the English County of Oxfordshire. The police estimated his death as «sudden but not suspicious», the media reported that the cause could be heart failure.
