Russia 7 March will be held in Geneva conference on the support of Christians and members of other religions, said Deputy foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, speaking during the 34th session of the UN Council on human rights, held in Geneva.

«We Express our appreciation to all the partners that supported our joint initiative to hold a conference on «Mutual respect and peaceful coexistence as a condition of interreligious peace and stability: the support of Christians and members of other religions», which will take place in Geneva on 7 March,» he said.

According to him, Russia hopes that participation in the conference of senior Church hierarchs, including Metropolitan Hilarion, along with government officials and experts in the field «will not only discuss the existing challenges and threats, but also to identify ways of overcoming them based on the positive experience of many multi-religious countries.»
