Germany welcomes the decision on ceasefire in the Donbass from April 1

The German government welcomes the decision of the trilateral contact group on ceasefire from 1 April in the Donbass and urges all parties to conflict to comply with its conditions, he said at a briefing the official representative of the government of Germany Steffen Seibert.

«The German government welcomes the fact that tripartite contact group in Minsk on Wednesday agreed to a truce in the conflict region in the East of Ukraine from 1 April. We Express our support for the efforts of this body, led by the OSCE aimed at improving security in place… We appeal to all parties to the conflict to commit themselves to respect the truce, which was agreed in 2015, in order to achieve a stable truce,» said Seibert.

The contact group on Ukraine meeting in Minsk on Wednesday agreed on a complete ceasefire in the Donbass from midnight on 1 April. The self-proclaimed militia DND and LNR has stated that they intend to adhere to announced from 1 April of the regime of silence. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko also instructed the leadership of the General staff of the armed forces and Ministry of defense ceasefire in the Donbass since April 1.
